as a rule I don’t keep pictures of myself, especially not from before mid2015, so seeing one is a stark reminder of how absolutely Every Single Pore of mine radiated abject misery pre transition to the point you could just substitute me for a wax figure in that photo and no one would be the wiser

Tumblr’s NSFW ban, moving to self-hosting, and Patreon

pillowprincessreviews:

If this blog has ever brought you joy or useful information, please consider supporting me on Patreon or making a one-time donation.

In the last few months, hosting a sex toy review blog on Tumblr has become increasingly hard. Posts with external links were hidden from searches, adult blogs started getting shadowbanned, and recently, adult content has been entirely banned. I think this is a horrible decision - access to good, varied, inclusive sex ed is essential if you want people to have a fun and safe sex life. Predictably, some of my posts have been definitively hidden, and I take that same risk every time I post a new review.

This means I have to leave Tumblr as my primary content hub. I really regret it - I chose Tumblr for a reason, and not just because it was the cheapest option. It makes posts super accessible, directly on the dash of any person who follows me, which important because Tumblr is a hive of queer/kinky people (particularly youth) who could really use inclusive, correct info about sex toys even without actively going to look for it. It also makes sex toy education accessible for people who can’t/don’t dare seek out nsfw websites (such as people with overbearing parents, in abusive relationships, etc). Sadly, I don’t have a choice: with the course Tumblr is taking, it’s increasingly hard to reach my audience, and my blog could just be deleted at any time, rendering all my hard work void.

I’ll keep this blog active, replacing the body of the posts with links to the same posts on my new site, so if you keep following this blog, you will stay updated and will easily be able to click through to my content. For that to be possible, however, I need to pay for self-hosting. Being a student, this is not easy to budget for. So, if you’d like this blog to keep existing, I would really appreciate your support.

Like seriously I wish we had a more comprehensive sex education program in the U.S. You know how many guys I know who had no idea an unaroused vagina is only 2-3 inches deep? Or that the cervix raises up when aroused to accommodate dick? Or that if a girl is “tight” that generally means she’s not turned on and you’re shitty in bed? Or that the cervix has an entire cycle it goes through throughout the month where is changes hardness, placement in the vagina, wetness? Like, when you’re ovulating your cervix gets soft and raises high up into the vagina and your hormones get you really horny. It’s like natures way of moving the furniture around and fluffing the pillow for dick because it wants to get pregnant. And before menstruation, it gets really hard and low in the vagina. It’s basically inactivating it’s Facebook and saying “I just need some alone time for a few days”

Ladies and gentlemen, take a moment to learn about vaginas. Men, take an interest into your woman’s menstrual cycle!

U.S. Needs better sex Ed because I’m a 23 year old woman and didn’t even know all of this
